Out on a Date

police-boat.jpg

It was a pretty night to eat at Catalan and stroll the downtown boardwalk on the arm of my new man. I don't plan to tell any of you a thing about him because I don't want to jinx it. In fact, I should not even call him my new man since it was only our second date. I will say though, and this might be the pheremones talking, that I like him. Fingers crossed!

Subject change: I took some heat (friends: why don't you use the comments for this so people kknow what I'm talking about?) for not getting a picture and an opinion about Obama's apparently inspiring speach. In my own defense I will say that I could not get tickets. I tried. I mean, really tried. I waited in line, called friends. But nope. Could not get in. Most of the speach is here (or here) though. So there. I covered it.

Hillary Rocks Wilmington

Hillary was inspiring in downtown Wilmington on a beautiful Sunday evening. I had pretty much made up my mind to vote for Obama but she really lit me up. I found her warm--not the cuthroat b&(*ch she seems in the media spotlight--and I was very impressed with her agenda. I actually believed her promise to dismantle No Child Left Behind. And if she can get that health plan through she would be my hero. Also she makes a very good point about how much work her family got done last time they were in the White House.

Another Wilmington resident and political pundit went to both candidate speaches and weighs in here.

British Comedy Team On Their Way Here!

000e985e-b2db-137d-ac180c01ac1bf814.jpgBritish comics, David Walliams and Matt Lucas, are packing their bags as I write this and headed to our little burg to start filiming on Little Britain USA. The pair already have a hit series in the UK. IMDB describes Little Britain as a skit-based comedy that is "all that is mad, bad, quirky and generally bonkers about the people and places of Britain." Now that's a good reason to check out that new pub on Orange Street downtown. (More on that soon...)

A Nice Day for a Walk

The weather was perfect, depite the prediction for thunder storms. And these two boys were enjoying every minute of it.
