Flights Out of ILM Also Cancelled

The airline did not call before Dan finished packing for his trip to San Diego. But when he heard that Tina's flight—and all flights into ILM—had been shuttered, he called the airline himself. Judging from the cussing that came out of his office, they gave him a bit of a runaround before they admitted that, yes, his flight—and all flights out of ILM—are grounded. It only follows. If they aren't flying the planes here from Charlotte, they aren't going to have any plans to fly elsewhere in. So if you are travelling, call before you get in the car to go to the airport.

As Dan put it, "@#$@%@ USAirways web site STILL says my flight is on time." Though they have already rebooked him for a Sunday morning flight. That sort of spoils his weekend in San Diego, doesn't it? And I guess I will have to cancel the no-husband-in-sight party I had planned for tonight.

  2. HI Ladies in Wilmaville,
I am here in Charlotte-ville in a Hilton. I can not get back until tomorrow on a 1pm flight, but if they pull that - I'm a drivin'! I am glad to hear that Dan made it out. I would have stayed in NYC except that by tomorrow LGA will likely be in a ground stop. I would not have been home until Sunday at the earliest.
Hot bath, wine and a movie??

  3. Is the hotel at least nice? We got stuck in such a dump when we had to stay over in Charlotte on the way to CA last month.

Who wants to come to NY with me on Sept 18th? Elizabeth says she can't do it and I have two tickets to watch Martha Stewart tape a show on blogging!

Maybe we can think of something else to do while we are there?

  4. I would love to go, but will be getting ready to go to CHARLOTTE for a trade show for Mamaisms.
the hotel is nice because I booked it from LGA as soon as I found out that I was getting stranded. It is a hilton, and I am on an executive floor (traveling a lot pays off sometimes). the room service dinner was TERRIBLE, but I have a big bed and television. actually, that sort of sucks, huh?
I am over dosing on politics and thinking I might watch Sex and the City movie on pay per view. Oh, and I got M n M's with peanuts. :)
